Download and print the free chair backer template here. After cutting out the template, use a fine-point white chalk marker to trace around the shape on shades of felt to coordinate with your theme's colors. Cut one bat per guest at your party.
Next, trace the two bow pieces from the template onto various colors of felt with a white chalk marker and cut them out. To create the bow, fold the two squared ends of the rounded bow piece to the center and secure with a dab of hot glue. Turn it over and attach to the ribbon piece with another small bit of hot glue. Using hot glue, adhere one newly formed bow onto each bat at the base of her right ear. I alternated the colors of the bows on each bat.
Give each of your bats girly eyelashes by either cutting them out onto black felt, or if you have a cutting machine, you can cut them onto black vinyl.
Now give each of the bats a toothy grin by cutting two tiny isosceles triangles out of white felt and attaching them just under her eyes with hot glue.
Choose a color of bat for guests, and then add their name to the center of the bat. If you have a cutting matching you can cut the names on black vinyl, however using black Thickers™ or other black alphabet stickers would be equally cute!
Next, use a length of die cut bat shaped ribbon to measure around the back of the chairs you will use during your party. Be sure to leave about 1 1/2" on each end of the ribbon to attach to your bats. Hot glue the ends of the ribbon to each pointed end of the bat's wings. Give each felt bat a splash of color by tying on alternating pieces of colorful ribbon the the end of each of the wings.
Slip each of the colorful bats over the backs of the chairs during your Vampirina Birthday Party. Add a small GlueDot® to each bat to support their heads if needed. Finally, thrill guests by sending the bats home with them after the party ends!
