CVC and CVCe Spring Vowel Bulletin Board

CVC and CVCe Spring Vowel Bulletin Board

Now that spring is just around the corner, it's time to get busy creating some colorful and bright bulletin boards! This spring bulletin board is the perfect way to spruce up your classroom and help your children learn about vowels! When designing your bulletin board, think of all the signs of spring like birds, clouds, the sun, plants and friendly little bugs. With bursts of every hue of the rainbow, this colorful, engaging, and interactive spring CVC and CVCe vowel bulletin board will get your students excited about reading all types of words!

This fun and interactive spring bulletin board is perfect for reviewing CVC and CVCe words!

I started designing my bulletin board with a Pacon® Fadeless® White Paper Roll as my background. I outlined my bulletin board with Schoolgirl Style Hello Sunshine Rainbow Bulletin Board Borders and overlapped it with Schoolgirl Style Hello Sunshine Poms Bulletin Board Borders. On one side of the bulletin board I added the Big Tree Bulletin Board Set. I love the realistic look of the bark on this tree! Plus, this set also comes with realistic looking green leaves to add to your tree, too! I added five Mini Kraft Cardboard Popcorn Boxes to the bulletin board with a Hello Sunshine Raindrops Bulletin Board Cutout to each box. I then labeled each cutout with one of the five vowels (a, e, i, o, or u).

These bursting poms bulletin baord border in hues of every shade of the rainbow are the perfect addition to any spring themed classroom bulletin board

I also added a tissue paper sun to the upper right-hand corner of my bulletin board for some texture and to make the bulletin board pop! Lastly, I added some cloud cutouts from the Hello Sunshine Rainbow Bulletin Board Set.

This interactive spring bulletin board is the perfect addition to any classroom. Students will read and sort CVC and CVCe words and place them into the correct vowel bucket.

This DIY Flower Box Centerpiece was the perfect piece to hold all of my DIY wooden flowers for this activity. I outlined the box with Neon Washi Tape, and added some Medium Galvanized Metal Pails on the inside of the flower box centerpiece. I stuffed each galvanized metal pail with Tissue Paper. This will help your wooden CVC and CVCe flowers stay in place while they're stored in your wooden flower box centerpiece.

Students will love reading these CVC and CVCe words on these DIY wooden flowers from Oriental Trading!

To create the flowers, I used these DIY Unfinished Wood Flower Shapes. First, paint each shape using these easy-to-use 12-Color Paint Sticks. These are perfect for your students to use, and they are mess-free, too! Next, paint a wooden circle from your DIY Unfinished Wood Circle Assortment. Add some fun foam stickers to the buds of your flowers from these Self-Adhesive Flower Bouquet Craft Kits. Lastly, add some CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words to the petals of your flowers with these Thickers 3D Sprinkles Black Glitter Alphabet Stickers and adhere to a Green Striped Paper Straw. Make sure some of the words that you use in this activity can also be turned into CVCe (consonant-vowel-consonant-e) words.

Students will love using their magic

My students loved creating these magic "e" wands using these DIY Precious Princess Wands and Glitter Glue. For this activity, students will grab a flower from the flower box, read the CVC word, and add their magic "e" wand to see if it can be turned into a CVCe word.

This interactive and engaging bulletin board allows students to read CVC and CVCe words while identifying the vowel in each word!

Next, students must place the flower in the correct vowel container. Afterwards, students will write the CVC word and the CVCe word (if possible) down. I like to challenge my students to use the word in a sentence or draw a picture of the word.

Spring is right around the corner! Your students will love this colorful and interactive spring bulletin board!

Your students will love reviewing CVC or CVCe words with this fun and engaging spring bulletin board! So, the next time you're planning on changing your bulletin board, create an interactive, hands-on bulletin board that your students will enjoy and use!
