Looking for a classroom door décor idea that's fresh, fun and fabulous? This Be Kind classroom decoration idea is like a ray of sunshine welcoming students to class. With bright colors and positive messages, this door décor helps everyone start the day on a sunny note.
Begin with a super easy background. Simply tape a Happy Day Background on both sides of the door.
Line the top of each background with layered Happy Day Party Fans, and then line the bottom of the backgrounds with white tissue paper balls and pom-pom decorations to create clouds.
Now it's time to add details. First, create oversized pinwheels with pieces of 12x12 cardstock in coordinating colors. To make working pinwheels, use the sticks and pinwheel mechanisms from our DIY pinwheels craft kit. Top the fans with a colorful Happy Day Dessert Plate.
Stick a variety of oversized pinwheels and mini pinwheels in various colors into the tissue paper clouds along the bottom of the background.
Decorate the background with cutouts from the Happy Day Bulletin Board Set and Happy Day Garland.
Use wood clothespins to hang the Happy Day Poster set on a baker's twine clothesline.
Finish off the look with a DIY kite made from colored cardstock and the remaining Happy Day garland.
Cover your door with light blue paper roll. To create the sunbeams, tape yellow streamers in a ray pattern on the door. Place a sun from the Happy Day Cutouts in the middle. Line the outside of the door with borders from the Happy Day Bulletin Board Set. Top the door with Happy Day Door Border.
Students can get involved in the decorating, too, by making paper straw kites. Download, print and cut out the kite template available here. Trace and cut out the kites from colored construction paper. Glue two striped paper straws to the kites and cut off the excess. Paint bowtie pasta with acrylic paint. Once the pasta is dry, tie or glue the pasta onto a length of baker's twine. Glue the end of the baker's twine to the bottom of the kite. Write each student's name on their kite. Hang the finished kites on the door.
