- 16 oz. Plain Iced Tea (home made or store bought will do!)
- One oz. Clear Rum
- One oz. Simple Syrup
- 1 tsp. Sugar
- 1/4 c. Fresh Mint
- Ice
- Lemon Juice (to taste)

Fill a pint ball mason jar to half full with chilled tea. It's fabulous to brew your own tea at home if you have the time, but store bought is also fine for this recipe. The tea should not be presweetened unless you prefer it that way.

Add one ounce of clear rum to the jar. For this recipe we used Bacardi Puerto Rican rum. If you prefer a different brand, no problem! Just be sure that you don't select spiced rum, that would be a different taste altogether.

Add one ounce of simple syrup and give the drink a stir. You can also make your own simple syrup if you prefer homemade. To make your own, it's a one to one ratio of sugar and water. Heat on stove until sugar dissolves.

Next, add a generous scoop of ice to the drink. You can opt to add a squeeze of lemon or lime if you like, during this part of the steps, but this tasty craft cocktail is just as good without it.

Fresh mint is the showcase ingredient of this delicious and unique take on the favorite drink of the south! If you like, break up the leaves to release the mint flavor into the drink as it steeps.

Top the mason jars off with adorable daisy cut lids. Because these never touch the drink, they were safe to paint and seal with a food safe varnish. A bright and cheery shade of yellow is the perfect pop of color against the fresh and happy palette of mint green and blush. A festive paper straw coordinates perfectly with the free printable "Bless Your Heart" labels, which feature pretty watercolor peaches on a branch. The mason jars are wrapped in burlap and lace atop a coral colored paper doily, then the darling labels are glued on. The jars are totally transformed and make this tasty libation feel even more special.
