- 2 Cups Flour
- 1/4 t. Salt
- 3/4 Cup Butter, softened
- 3/4 Cup White Sugar
- 1 Large Egg
- 1 t. Vanilla
Add the flour mixture and blend on low speed just until combined. Gather dough into a ball, flatten into a disc, and wrap tightly in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
On floured surface, roll dough out to about 1/4' thickness. Cut into desired shapes and place onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 13-15 minutes in 325° oven. Immediately transfer to cool on flat surface.

Show the children how to frost a cookie. I like to remind them that since these are sugar cookies, you don’t need a ton of frosting. A thin layer is best when adding extra sugar.

Let the children add what they want. They can try to make a picture or just add whatever treats they want. We had a little of both happening at our party. Be sure to check out all of the other posts for my Kids Painting Party including a Self-Portrait Printable and DIY Painting Kit.
