- 1 1/2 c. All-Purpose Flour
- 1 t. Baking Powder
- 1/4 t. Salt
- 1/2 c. Milk, at Room Temperature
- 1 t. Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 c. (1 stick) Butter, at Room Temperature
- 1 c. Sugar
- 2 Large Eggs, at Room Temperature
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a 12 cup cupcake pan with the Patriotic cupcake liners and set aside. In a bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
In a separate bowl, cream your butter on medium-high until light and fluffy. Add the sugar and continue to beat. Once the sugar is incorporated, slowly add the eggs and vanilla until just blended.
Alternate between adding the milk and flour mixture to the bowl. Continue mixing until all the ingredients are just blended.
Divide the batter evenly among the 12 cupcake cups. Place the tray in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until just barely done.

Use the sharp knife to cut the top off of your cupcake, all the way down to the cupcake liner.

Use the star cookie cutter to cut a star out of the center of the top of your cupcake.

Pipe frosting on to the top of your cut cupcake.

Sandwich the top of the cupcake back onto the frosting topped cupcake.

Carefully scoop your sprinkles into the star cut opening of your cupcake. We had fun trying different types of red white and blue sprinkles to add to our star center. We also left a few empty to showcase the white vanilla frosting that we used as well.
