- 1 oz. Simple Syrup
- 3 oz. Silver Tequila
- 1/2 oz. Grand Marnier
- 2 oz. Fresh Lime Juice (can substitute Bottled Lime Juice)
- 1 Jalapeno Pepper
- 1/4 cup Coarse Salt for rimming glasses
- Lime slice, to garnish

Pour about 1/8 C. simple syrup onto a small plate, and the coarse salt onto a second plate.

Invert a margarita glass onto the plate with the simple syrup, coating the rim, then dip the rim of the glass in the plate of salt. Now you're ready to add the liquid ingredients to your glass.

Add the chilled tequila to the margarita glass. Silver tequila is suggested for this recipe, but you can use any variety you like.

Squeeze 2 oz. of fresh lime juice into the glass. A great tip for juicing limes is this: before cutting, roll the lime back and forth on the counter a few times. This breaks up the inner chambers, ensuring an extra juicy fruit.

Add the simple syrup, followed by the Grand Marnier. Give the mixture a stir to blend the ingredients.

Slice the jalapeno into rings, and float one in your glass for a mild margarita, two for a medium bite, and three for spicy hot!

Garnish with lime slices and jalapeno rings.
