- Devil's Food Cake Mix and Ingredients Needed to Prepare It
- 2 c. Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- 2 c. Heavy Whipping Cream
- 1 t. Vanilla Extract
- Assorted Berries
- Powdered Sugar (optional)

Preheat the oven to the temperature suggested on the cake mix box. Grease and flour eight oven-safe ramekins. Baking spray with flour works great for this. Mix the cake batter according to package directions, then pour into ramekins until they're 1/2 to 3/4 full. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool in the ramekins on a wire rack for five minutes. Using a sharp knife, level off each cake. Remove the cakes from the ramekins and let cool completely on a wire rack.

While the cakes are cooling, pour the chocolate chips, heavy whipping cream, and vanilla into a microwave safe bowl. Gently stir together and then microwave for one minute. Use a spatula to stir the mixture together. As the chocolate begins to melt, the mixture will look grainy. Just keep stirring!

As the chocolate continues to melt, the mixture will turn into a rich, silky ganache. If your chocolate still appears grainy after a few minutes of stirring, add about 15 seconds more in the microwave then stir some more until your ganache looks like it does here. Place in the fridge to thicken a bit while your cakes continue to cool.

Once the cakes are cool, place each cake on it's own Marble Glass Coaster or serving plate. Remove the ganache from the fridge. It should drip from a spoon without being overly runny or too thick. If it's too thick and doesn't drip, a few seconds in the microwave should loosen it back up. Add the ganache to a decorating bag fitted with a small, round tip. Pipe the ganache along the top edge of each cake, sort of nudging down toward the sides every so often to create the drip effect. Once the edges are complete, pipe ganache over the top of the cake to cover it.

Add an assortment of berries to the top of each cake. If desired, sprinkle with powdered sugar. For a pretty presentation, sit the cake coasters on top of Gold-Flecked Mercury Votive Holders then arrange on a platter filled with fresh flowers. The display will look like a million bucks, and your friends won't be able to wait to dig in!
