Grease and flour 4 8" round cake pans.
Make cakes according to package directions. Add a few drops of orange gel food coloring to the vanilla batter.
Divide cake batter evenly between each pan making two of each chocolate and vanilla. Bake as directed and let cakes cool completely before decorating. You will only need one chocolate layer so freeze the second cake layer once it is cooked and cooled to save for a treat later.
Scoop chocolate frosting into a medium bowl and stir in 5-6 drops of black gel food coloring. Spoon into an icing/piping bag and the vanilla frosting into another bag. Snip off the end to make a large opening.
Layer a vanilla, chocolate, then vanilla cake on to a Footed Cake Stand with a thin layer of vanilla frosting in the middle of each layer. Spread a thin layer of vanilla frosting on the top layer. Then alternating between chocolate and vanilla frosting, pipe a band around the entire cake starting at the bottom.
Once the cake has been covered in frosting, take a large flat end spatula, knife or bench scraper to smooth out the edges. This takes a little patience so try to get it as smooth as possible. It may take a few tries.
Melt the green candy melts along with 2 tbs. of heavy cream according to package directions. Stir until smooth and slowly pour over the top of the cake. Working quickly take a spoon or off set spatula to gently spread it to the edges. You want some of it to drip off the top and down the sides.
Line the bottom edge of the cake with alternating colored gumballs. Decorate the top with candies, suckers, marshmallow Peeps. Use the straws to poke through the bottom of the Peeps to create a candy pop. You can also use the straws to hold any of the suckers. Be sure to unwrap any candy before placing it on your cake. Sprinkle with festive sprinkles.
