Make your favorite cookie dough or go the easy route and purchase pre-made cookie dough at the grocery store. Roll out your dough until it's 1/4" thick. Using circus animal cookie cutters, cut your animal shapes out of the dough and place on a cookie sheet.
Bake cookies according to sugar cookie dough recipe and cool.
Melt orange candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments, stirring each 30 seconds, until smooth.
Dip the front sides of your cooled sugar cookies in candy melt and then place them back on the cooling rack.
Immediately sprinkle cookies with black and orange candy sprinkles and allow candy melts to harden.
Repeat steps 1-5 using white or black candy melts so you have an assortment of circus cookie colors.
