- 1 Stick Unsalted Butter - Room Temperature
- 1 c. Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 Tsp. Salt1 Large Egg - Room Temperature
- 1/2 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
- 2 1/2 cups All Purpose Flour
- 1/2 Tsp. Baking Powder
- 1/2 Tsp. Baking Soda
- Christmas Chocolate Candies
With mixer on low, add eggs with vanilla one at a time and then increase to medium speed and mix until fully incorporated. Light and fluffy. Again, scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed and when mixing is complete.
On low speed add in flour mixture in three parts – scraping down the sides of the bowl in between additions - and mix until the dough begins to pull away from the sides.
Shape the dough - I prefer to shape the dough into balls before chilling. Using a cookie scoop is the easiest way to make sure all the cookies are the same shape and bake evenly.
Scoop out the dough and place on your cookie sheet (no need to space them for baking yet).
Take your Christmas Chocolate Candies and push them into the top.Once you've scooped all the dough, chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
And that's it for the dough! When you're ready to bake...Preheat your oven to 350F. All ovens are different so baking times and temperatures will vary. And of course, if your cookies are large they'll take longer to bake.
And there you have it! Delicious Green and Red Christmas Chocolate Candy Cookies! We served these at our Holiday Cookie Decorating Playdate and they were a huge hit with the kids!
