- Sugar cookie mix
- 2 lbs confectioners sugar
- 1 package (16 oz) mini marshmallows
- 2-4 tablespoons of water
- Black food coloring
- 1/2 vegetable shortening
- Copper colored sprinkles
- Rolling pin

Bake sugar cookies according to package directions and set aside.
Place one 16 oz package of mini marshmallows and 2 tablespoons of water into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave marshmallows in increments of 20 seconds. Stir the mixture and place back into the microwave and continue on heating in 20 second increments until the mixture is completely melted.

Now that the marshmallow mixture is melted, give it a quick stir and scrape down.

Place 3/4 bag of confectioners sugar into the marshmallow mixture and fold it in.

Using vegetable shortening, grease countertop and hands generously and place mixture onto the counter. Knead the mixture like you would dough for about 6- 8 minutes. Continue adding more confectioners sugar and shortening as need so the mixture doesn't stick.

Separate two pieces of fondant so you'll have one white ball of fondant and one black. Add several drops of black food coloring to one of the balls of fondant and knead until you achieve the desired color.

Roll the two colors of fondant into long snake shapes and roll them together to get the marble effect.

Using a rolling pin, roll out the fondant into about a 1/4" thickness.

Using a round cookie cutter, cut several circles out of the fondant. Place the marble fondant circles on top of the sugar cookies.

Sprinkle copper colored sprinkles on top of the cookies and place them on a ceramic cake stand for a beautiful presentation.
