- 1 Box White Cake Mix
- 3 Large Eggs
- 1/3 c. Vegetable Oil
- 1 1/4 c. Water
- 1 Container White Frosting
- 1 c. Mini Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- 1 6 oz. Jar Maraschino Cherries
- Little Ladybug Character Lollipops
- Green Food Coloring

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Next, combine the boxed cake mix, 3 eggs, 1/3 cup vegetable oil, and 1 1/4 cups water in a bowl and mix with a mixer or beat vigorously by hand using a whisk. Once mixed, add in 1 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips and mix to evenly distribute.

Next, drain the juice from a 6 oz. jar maraschino cherries and finely chop them using a food processor. Add the cherries to the cake batter and mix together.

Line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners and fill with the cake mix. Bake for 14-19 minutes, depending upon your oven.

Finally, cut about 1 1/2" off the ends of the little ladybug lollipops and top each cupcake with one. We alternated the ladybugs with the flowers for our display. Serve your sweet creations during your Little Ladybug First Birthday Party and be prepared for your guests to ask for the delicious recipe!
