- 3 Eggs
- 3/4 c. Milk
- 1/4 c. Flour
- 1 Tbsp. Sugar
- 1 t. Vanilla
- 1/2 t. Cinnamon
- 1/4 t. Salt
- 11-12 oz.Chewy french bread cut into bite-size cubes
- 1 Large apple, peeled, cored, and diced
- 4 oz. Cream cheese, cut into little cubes
- 1-2 Tbsp. Cinnamon sugar
- maple syrup for serving

In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, flour, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until smooth.

Stir in the french bread and diced apples until completely coated in custard mixture. Add the cream cheese and very gently fold it in until the cream cheese is evenly distributed.

Pour the mixture into a greased 8x8" baking dish (or a pan about that size). Cover the casserole with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least a few hours or overnight.

When you are ready to bake the casserole, preheat the oven to 375°F. Remove the casserole from the fridge and throw away the plastic wrap. Sprinkle 1-2 Tablespoons cinnamon sugar over the top of the casserole.

Bake for 30 minutes until the top is golden. Remove from the oven and serve immediately with maple syrup.
