Begin by removing the lids of the Mason jars and painting them in the colors of your choosing. The lighter the color, the more coats of paint you will need to apply. Be sure to allow each layer to fully dry before applying the next coat. I applied three thin layers of paint to my jars. To achieve the perfect pastel colors, I added a bit of white acrylic paint to the colors in the tropical paint set.

While the paint is drying on the jars, dress up the outer rims of the lids with a bit of gold glitter. Using a small sponge paintbrush, apply a thin layer of Mod Podge® all over the lids then shake glitter over the surface. Set them aside to dry.

Next, make a yarn tassel for each jar in various colors. To make the tassels, simply wrap yarn around your hand (I wrapped around about 10 times) then, using a separate piece of yarn or baker's twine, tie at the top to secure together. To create the "head" simply wrap around the bundled part with another piece of yarn or baker's twine and secure the end with a dab of hot glue.

Next, tie a tassel in a contrasting color around the top of each jar. Trim off any excess twine and replace the glittered lids to each jar.

Finally, fill each jar with flowers, utensils or desserts like we did with our Chocolate Drizzled Meringue Pops! The best part is, these jars would look super cute used as holders for pens, pencils, markers, crafts tools, you name it long after the party has ended!
