Add a bead of hot glue to the back of a wood heart. Press pink yarn on top of the glue, and secure with a plastic heart bead. This will be covered later, so don't worry about how it looks. Just be sure the yarn is securely adhered to the heart so it doesn't pull when you begin to wrap.
Begin wrapping the yarn around the heart shape, alternating directions to cover the entire surface.
Wrap the heart with yarn in a horizontal direction, as well. You can add a dot of hot glue to the surface to give the yarn something to stick to when you reach the sides. This will prevent the yarn from sliding.
When the entire surface is covered and no wood shows through, glue down the final strand of yarn and snip off any excess with scissors.
Apply hot glue to one corner of the yarn-wrapped heart, and add gems, pearls and any other Valentine's Day themed embellishments you'd like.
Once all the gems and embellishments are in place, allow your heart to dry. Give these hearts out as party favors, incorporate them into your party decor or place them throughout your house this February! Be sure to see how we used these hearts at our Valentine's Day Themed Bridal Shower and see how you can make your own DIY Cupid's Arrows too.
