Paint the exterior of the crate with two coats of paint using a foam brush. I chose white paint from this acrylic paint set because the patterns on the washi tape really pop against the white.

Choose your favorite colors of washi tape to decorate your crate! I ran the tape along the top of each of the bars on the crate, wrapping the tape all the way around.

Overlap the tape slightly at the end, as washi tape sticks best on itself.

Keep adding tape until you get the look you want.

Use these fun alphabet letter tiles to label your crates. Add to the bottom of the crate with a dab of hot glue.

My magazines look so much better organized in a crate vs. piling up on the coffee table. Be sure to check out our other Supply of the Month projects including these projects using the Primary Patterned Washi Tape Set: Modern Washi Tape Jewelry Box by Carrie Waller, Washi Tape Gallery Wall Frames by Sara Albers, and Washi Tape Wooden Bangles by Amy Weir.
