(Protect your work surface, and use gloves if you are a beginner to using a hot glue gun.) To keep organized, we separated our buttons into bowls. Separate the wood buttons into three sizes that come in the packages, Large, medium and small. Lay your cardboard frame on the table in front of you, and prepare your glue gun.

Run a bead of glue onto the cardboard frame in a line, and apply the largest buttons. Working in small sections, repeat this process all over the frame, except for the lower left corner, which will be left empty. That’s where the flower accent will go, later.

Once your large buttons are down, you’ll notice they do not fully cover the white space. That’s okay! The next layer of buttons is the medium sized bunch, and these are glued over the large buttons, to cover most of that white space. Apply glue and buttons as shown.

Finally, add in a final layer using the smallest wood buttons. When you have finished adding all of the wood buttons as instructed (leaving that lower left corner blank), your project should look something like this. This project is one of several inexpensive crafts that make up the decor items for our Vintage Romantic Bridal Shower.

Add in the gold and pearl buttons to accent the design here and there. Here’s a closeup look at how the buttons are layered on.

Lay your frame over the black Foamcore, (do not glue it yet, just in case of mistakes when you write, Foamcore is not erasable), and add a cute message using a white chalkboard marker. Since our chalkboard frame is going to be a tabletop sign for a dessert table, we used the phrase, “Life is Sweet, Have a Treat”.

When you have the hand lettering just the way you want it to look, gently lift the frame and apply glue to the corners of the Foamcore, and press down gently to adhere the frame to the Foamcore. Add moss and flowers of your choosing, using hot glue. Stand your frame on a tabletop easel, or lean against a wall, or chair, for a beautiful tabletop accent.
