Start by carefully separating the doilies. They are thin and can tear if not separated with care. If you want a sturdier garland, double them up and use two or three doilies together.

Thread one end of baker’s twine through the front of one side of the doilie to the back, then back through the front on the other side. The important part is to use symmetrical holes on each side, and to use the same holes on each heart. Repeat this process with as many doilies as desired, alternating colors. The doilies slide easily across the twine, so don’t worry about getting each one perfectly in place.

Once you have your desired length, you can cut the twine and hang the garland wherever you want! An easy tip: if you don’t have a good way to attach a garland, use Command Strip Hooks and tie a little loop on either end of your garland. Then when the holiday is over, you can easily remove it and leave your space damage free.
I paired mine with the Love Garland and it was the perfect way to spruce up my island.

Pretty darn simple, right? And pretty darn cute. Wait until you see what else I did with these doilies to personalize a lunchtime treat for my daughter’s Valentine’s Play Date Party.
Decorations don’t have to be complicated to be beautiful!
