Take all the tassels off of the rope by pulling the rope through the top of the tassels until they come off. Put in piles by color.
Next, we are going to use the washi tape to attach the tassels to the wall, as shown here.
To make this diagonal pattern: start with the black tassels. Make one big diagonal stripe out of the black tassels. Next, move down the wall and tape on a diagonal stripe of the silver tassels directly underneath the black ones. Continue to move down the wall adding diagonal stripes of each color.
