First things first you need a bar cart. I used a wooden bar cart that I found at my local craft store. During the summer I had been using it as an outdoor bar cart for all of our summer entertaining, but I decided to give it a makeover for the fall football season. I spray painted it black to fit with our neutral party theme.

Cut the football field tablecloth to fit in the inside section of the serving trays. I decided to leave the tablecloth folded so that it was thicker and more durable. Use glue dots to secure the tablecloth to the bar cart, these are perfect because they will hold it in place but are temporary enough that when you change your mind and want to give the bar cart a new makeover you can remove it.

The top part of my bar cart has a removable serving tray. I wanted to give it a football inspired makeover so I added some upright handles. To start I drew the "U" shape of the upright on some balsa wood I had in my craft supplies. If you don't have balsa wood you could use a thick white foam board. I painted the wood white and let it dry.

I cut a 1/8" wooden dowel to the appropriate height and painted them white. Use tape or a hot glue gun to secure the "U" shape piece to the wooden dowel.

Find the center on the top of the tray and drill a hole large enough to securely hold the wooden dowel upright. Finally, add your uprights to your tray and put back on your bar cart.

I made a balloon garland using latex balloons and self-inflating football balloons to create the perfect backdrop for our football themed bar cart. To create the garland you simply need to hang the fishing line above your bar cart. Then begin blowing up the balloons in varying sizes.

Tie balloons to the string and use glue dots or a low temp glue gun to attach smaller sized balloons in order to get the layered effect.

Add in the football shaped balloons and you have the perfect football themed backdrop for your bar cart.

To complete your football bar cart add lots of football-themed serving containers for snacks and drinks. I filled the football drink dispenser with our signature Hail Mary cocktail and guests used the football shaped cups to sip on this touchdown-worthy drink. Make sure to see the entire Football Watch Party, a recipe for Bacon Cheeseburger Kabobs and how to make your own Football Coasters.
