Begin by covering your work surface and adding red, white and blue acrylic paint to a paint palette. Next, paint 12 DIY wooden star shapes blue and set aside to dry.

Prepare your white linen bags to receive red stripes by adding four pieces of washi tape to extend horizontally across the front of the bag starting at the very bottom. Leave a space between each tape strip about the same width of the tape itself. Be sure to press firmly and evenly on the tape to ensure to sticks to the bag and provides a crisp line when painting in the next step.

Cut a piece of card stock roughly the same size as the linen bag and insert it inside the bag to prevent the paint from going through to the other side. With a small paintbrush begin painting each white stripe with red paint. I added two layers of red paint to each stripe to ensure the paint fully covered the white fabric. Remove the tape while the paint is still slightly wet.

Once the paint stripes have dried on the bags, add a blue wooden star to the center of each bag using hot glue.

Next, jazz up each bag by adding a bot of white pom pom trim to the bottom. Cut a strip of trim to extend from end to end of the bag and use hot glue to adhere the trim to the bags.

Using a white paint marker, write "1776" in the center of each star as a nod to the beginning America's official nationhood.

Finally, place a favor bag at each place setting during your Patriotic Confetti 4th of July Party and let guests fill them with sweet treats as they depart!
