Measure five 1" sections horizontally on the DIY Unfinished Wood Rectangular Plaque and firmly press thin pieces of washi tape to section them off.

Begin painting the top, middle, and bottom sections of your wood plaque. I painted each section a different color. Pull off your tape once the paint is dry, then reapply the tape right on the line and then paint the final two colors.

To fill in the hole on the DIY Unfinished Wood Shamrock Ornament, apply a small piece of washi tape across the backside of the hole, and then fill with a small amount of hot glue. As the hot glue cools, smooth it over so it's level with the shamrock.

I painted the shamrock gold before applying a thin layer of glitter. I used Mod Podge® with the glitter to ensure good coverage in case some of the glitter brushed off.

To add a little more pizazz, apply Mod Podge® and glitter to the raw edges of the sign. Once the shamrock is dry, adhere it to the center of the painted wood plaque using hot glue.

Now your freshly painted shamrock and rainbow St. Patrick's Day sign is ready to be set out and enjoyed during your Pastel St. Patrick's Day Party! Be sure to check out my Pastel St. Patrick's Day Party, St. Patrick's Day Party Favor Bags and Leprechaun Trap Place Cards for more inspiration!
