To make the salt dough, mix together 2 cups of flour and 1 cup salt. Slowly add 1/2 cup warm water, then mix with a mixer or wooden spoon. Keep mixing until the dough comes together in a ball and is smooth. If necessary, add more water to get to a dough-like consistency.

Roll out the dough with a rolling pin. Use a plastic egg half like a cookie cutter to cut out an egg shape.

Press a straw into the top center of the dough egg to create a hole. Repeat for as many egg tags as you would like.

Place all the egg tags on a baking sheet and bake in a 250 degree oven for 1-2 hours, or until tags are hard and dry. Remove from oven and let cool.

Place colorful paint into paint palettes. Let kids paint their own egg tags with paintbrushes and paint. Let dry.

Use wire, ribbon, or string to attach a tag to each child's Easter basket for the big hunt!
