Cut out all of the letters, apple, and numbers. You don't have to be super precise. Just do your best to cut everything out. Seriously, don't spend too much time on this step making everything perfect. We are going for a rustic look anyway.

Once you've cut everything out, lay everything out on the DIY Stained Wood Plank Sign and begin tracing around each element. You just need to lightly, or ever so faintly, trace around all of the elements. You don't want to be able to see this after you have finished painting.

Now it's time to paint in your letters. I was going for a rustic look, so I purposely didn't fill my letters in all the way. You can achieve this look by removing most of the paint from your Plaid® White Nylon Paintbrush and gently sweeping the brush back and forth until you get the desired amount of coverage. If your letter isn't filled in enough, you can repeat the process. If by chance, you get too much paint, you can also sand some of it off. Continue until you have filled in all the letters to your liking.

Add a Faux Leather Cording to the back of your sign for easy hanging. Turn your sign over and decide where your cord should be placed. Attach cord to the back of the sign with a staple gun.
While I was setting up the station, I added some felt poms on a string to bring a little color to the sign. You can see my styling tips here.

Your Rustic Apple Sign is now ready for hanging or displaying. This sign is so versatile and can be placed anywhere throughout your house. It's the perfect sign to leave up during the fall season. Be sure to check out a delicious Sparkling Caramel Apple Cider Recipe and Rose Gold Apple Cider Station.
