Begin by painting your paper parasols with the color tempera paint of your choice. Using a sponge brush, gently paint the paper all over the front. Let dry completely and then repeat with a second layer for full coverage.

Paint several parasols in your party colors. You will need approximately 16-20 parasols to cover one 10' by 10' wall.

Use a pair of grips or pliers to snap the wood handle of the parasol as low as possible. Repeat with all the parasols.

Beginning at the top of your wall in the center, use two thumb tacks to secure the parasol to the wall and the top and bottom through the paper. Repeat with all your parasols, over lapping them as you go and working outwards and down to the ground.

Once all the umbrellas are hung, you can use a few photo props or just simply have party guests pose for photos in front for a unique and colorful backdrop. The backdrop would also look cute behind a colorful summer themed food table or dessert bar!
