Don’t Eat Pete
One of the things I design a lot of are these Don’t Eat Pete Game Boards. I make them for just about any holiday and party because it’s a game even the young kids can play…and it involves eating candy! What’s not to love? This is a great party game to play when you need the kids to sit and be entertained for a bit while you tend to something else.
For those who haven’t played, the rules are quite simple.
- Cover each square with a piece of candy, I used tropical Skittles® to go with the theme, but any small bite size candy will work!
- Choose someone to leave the room.
- The rest of the players decide which square will be “Pete” secretly and then invite the other player back in the room.
- That player then takes turns eating a candy one by one until they try to eat “Pete”, and everyone yells “DON’T EAT PETE!”
- The player’s turn is then over and the game can start again with another player leaving the room.

Fill in your Party Invitations with a fun colored pen and then mail or handed out the invites with a pair of sunglasses, cheap flip-flops or an inexpensive beach towel. I always love to add a little something with my invites. It makes the anticipation of the party that much more fun! There is also a cute Thank You Cardincluded so you can make sure that the guest of honor is able to show gratitude to those that came…in my opinion the most important part of throwing a kids’ party!

Finally, there are some cute Favor Tags to add to all of your party favors. Go as simple or as crazy as you want with the party favors. The important thing is that every kid gets to leave with a little something to remember the party. These pails of fun were a HUGE hit at our little pool party!

Be sure to check out the rest of this Waterpalooza Pool Party including a DIY Pink Flamingo Centerpieceand recipe for S’mores Sundae Cups.
