Begin by rounding the edges of a 16x20 white foam board to create the ladybug's body. To do so, place a little ladybug dinner plate in the corner of the foam board, with the head of the plate pointing to the center, and trace the bottom edge of the plate onto the board. Repeat this step in each corner and then using an exacto knife, cut off each end.

Next, create the ladybug's head by using the same little ladybug dinner plate. Trace just over half of the larger rounded body portion of the plate onto an 8x10 foam board and then carefully cut along the line with an exacto knife.

Next, paint the head of the ladybug with black acrylic paint and the body of the ladybug red. Set the pieces aside to dry. The body might need a few coats to fully cover.

While the ladybug pieces are drying, print and cut out the bow template to create a little flair for your ladybug. Download the Free Ladybug Templates here! Trace the bow shape onto pink cardstock and cut out. To assemble, fold the small outer flaps towards the center and hot glue into place. Add a cute flower to the center for a bit of pizazz using hot glue. I cut a few leaves from green cardstock for good measure.

Once the paint has dried, use hot glue to attach the head of the ladybug to the top center portion of the body. Attach the pink bow to her head using a dab of hot glue as well.

Next, trace 5-6" circles onto both black and red tissue paper. We used 10 red and 8 black circles for our ladybug.

Now for the fun part! Fill 10 red paper cups and 8 black paper cups with fun candies and ladybug goodies. We filled ours with an assortment of black polka dot buttermints, ladybug sweet creams candy, glitter ladybug poppers, little ladybug bubble bottles and ladybug tattoos. Place a coordinating piece of tissue paper over the top of each cup and then secure with a rubber band.

Using a bead of hot glue along the bottom edges of the cup, adhere the cups to the body of the ladybug, alternating the colors as you go.

Finally, display your Poke A Ladybug Party Game on a chair or table and let your little guests take turns punching the cups to reveal the hidden fun! Be sure to provide black polka dot cellophane bags for the guests to stash their loot.
