Trim the red construction paper 9 inches x 8 inches.

Begin rolling the piece of construction paper from the bottom up.

Run a dab of glue along the edge and secure the rolled up piece of paper in place. You may also need to secure with a piece of clear tape if you are having trouble getting the glue to stick and hold everything in place.

Cut a piece of black Duck Tape about 6-8 inches long. Split the tape in half so that the bands around your dynamite aren't so thick. Wrap one piece around the bottom about 2 inches up and then reapeat the same step at the top.

Cut a black chenille stem in half. Take a 3-4 inch piece of yellow streamer and fold it up, snip the ends to create a fringe look. Glue the yellow flame to the top of the chenille stem.

Insert the chenille stem into the center of the dynamite bundle. If you want you can add a dab of glue to secure it in place, but I didn't find that it was necessary for our props.

Paint the DIY unfinished wood slat crate with brown paint.

Use a letter stencil or your Cricut, which is what I used, to create the word DYNAMITE on the front of your crate and paint it black.

Spray paint a bunch of the colorful pit balls black to resemble the cannon balls. If you want you can hot glue them in stacks.

Load your dynamite and cannon ball props into your crate and display with your pirate themed trunk or treat.
