Start by filling the left half of your pineapple with white shred. This is a great way to save money too. Then you don’t have to fill the whole thing with candy. If you are worried about your candy touching the shred, you can lay down a piece of wax paper as a divider before moving onto the next step. I tried this both ways and they both produce the same beautiful result.

Start by filling up the left side of the Pineapple Favor Containers with jelly beans. Mix it up and have fun. I wanted the top part to look like a pineapple with green on top. For the bottom, I went with pink since it matched my color palette and was a bit more feminine. Have fun with this part. You could probably even do an assortment of colors. Take care to fill up as much as you can and press down the shred as much as you can.

Fill up the other side with just your bottom color. In this case, I just used pink. Fill this side up as much as possible. Now pick them up and cup one in each of your hands. Quickly sandwich them together leaving the left side a bit more flat and adding the right side on top. It’s okay, you will lose a few jelly beans along the way. Save them for your next container and move onto the next step. Also, you may need to pull out any rogue pieces of shred that might be sticking out of the container.

Use packing tape on each side of the pineapple to secure. These start to get heavy and the tape helps keep the two pineapple pieces together. I left this piece of tape a little bigger than normal for illustration purposes only. I would cut this piece in half and use the other half on the other side of the container.
