
Distribute paint in clear cups. Cover you table with a plastic tablecloth. Decide which sea creatures you would like to create. Paint the non-glossy (bottom) side of the paper plate. Start with one coat that covers the entire surface of the plate. Let plates dry in the sun. Ours only took 10-15 minutes to dry completely!

To create the Tropical Fish, , make fun designs with the dip and dot foam paint dotters on the body of the fish. We used the mini shapes to create colorful patterns on our tropical fish. I love the stars and the triangle shapes! The girls also used various colors to make their tropical fish “pop” with color.

The kids wanted to add some bling to their tropical fish so we embellished the fish with a few self adhesive jewels. Using glue dots, add the large googly eye. Cut a small triangle below the googly eye for the mouth. Use the triangle for the fish tail by attaching it with a glue dot. You could also use a marker to draw a sweet smile.
To create the Sea Turtle paper plate craft, start with a green painted paper plate. Add googly eyes using the glue dots. Draw a smile, eyebrows and nostrils with a brown marker.

Cover the sea turtle’s shell with square shapes using a brown marker. Draw two oval shapes on green construction paper to make the turtle’s hind feet. Draw two front feet that resemble the shape of a boomerang. Attach feet with glue dots. Use brown marker to add toes to the hind feet. Add a small green triangle for the sea turtle’s tail.
To create the Crab paper plate craft, Start with a red painted paper plate. Attach two googly eyes with glue dots. Draw a mouth and nostrils with a black marker.

Draw two “U” shaped claws on red construction paper, cut out and attach using glue dots. Cut six strips of red paper for the legs. Ours were about ½” x 8.5″. Accordion fold each paper strip for the legs. Attach one end of the strip using a glue dot to the paper plate. Put three legs on each side of the plate.
To create the Shark paper plate craft, start with a paper plate painted half blue. Attach two googly eyes with glue dots. Cut three small triangle for the shark’s fins. Coat each triangle with white glue and sprinkle with blue glitter. Shake off excess glitter. Let fins dry before attaching each to the shark using glue dots. Attach one fin at the top and one on each side.

Cut a small half circle from red construction paper. You can use the bottom portion of the same white plate to trace or for reference. Measure the width of the inside portion of the bottom of the white plate. Cut a strip of white paper the same width. Cut small triangle teeth from one side of the white strip. Align the white teeth with the red half circle to make sure they are the same width. Trim accordingly. Glue the white teeth to the red mouth. Glue the mouth to the white portion of the paper plate.
