Start by pouring some acrylic paint into one of your buckets. Since you’re going to paint the inside of the bucket too, you don’t need to use another cup or plate for your paint. You will probably want to add a little bit of water to make the paint runnier. If you add too much water, your paint will be too runny to get that perfect paint drip look.

Stir your paint with a medium paint brush and then start scraping your paint brush against the outside edge of the bucket. Paint will run down the edges. It might be easier to tilt your bucket slightly when you do this.

When you’re happy with how the paint drips look, paint the inside of your bucket.

Let this fully dry (thicker paint areas may take longer). Then if you want to help make sure the paint doesn’t peel off too much, cover the entire bucket inside and out with a sealant. Mod Podge® would work well, but I ended out using a spray sealant.

After everything dries, you’re done! The hardest part will be choosing what colors to make. I think it would be fun to make one in every color of the rainbow and then use them to sort and store craft supplies by color.
