Download the Free Nature Scavenger Hunt Printable here and print it out on white paper. Use scissors to cut out the printable scavenger hunt card. Then glue it onto the front of a white treat bag.

For a simpler alternative for toddlers and preschoolers who are learning their colors, you can also place foam self-adhesive fall leaf stickers in varying colors on the front of the treat bags to create a fall color scavenger hunt.

Open up and pass out a fall scavenger hunt bag to each child. While on a nature walk, children have fun finding all of the objects or colors pictured on the front of the bag. After finding an item, children place the object inside their bag. At the end of the hunt, children can sit in a circle for show and tell to share the different items found in nature.
Place each of the items back in the white treat bags for safekeeping so children can create a nature crown craft.

To create a nature crown, cut two strips of cardstock 3-inches by 12-inches. We used a gold color cardstock to match a fall theme but you can use any color of your choice.
Staple each of the paper strip ends together, overlapping them 1-2 inches on each end, to create a crown shape.

Lay out the fall scavenger hunt items from the treat bags together with the unfinished paper crowns. Children use glue sticks, tape, a stapler or a low-temperature glue gun to adhere their leaves, twigs and other items onto the cardstock to create a uniquely designed fall crown.

Wear the crown for the afternoon to celebrate the colorful fall and autumn season. Check out more simple fall leaf crafts kids will have a blast creating this season.
