First, I filled the bobbing for apples tub cooler with green sand. This created the perfect tub for the apples to go into! One pack of bulk sand filled the entire bottom of the cooler.

I wrote every student’s name onto an apple stress ball. I used a marker to make sure the names were bold and wouldn’t rub off.

The students reach into the apple tub and pick up a small apple. They locate the name on the apple and then write it on the word strip. They don’t have to find their own name, any name in the class is great! If this is too difficult for the students you could have them write the first letter they see in the name. At first they won’t be able to read everyone’s name, but after time they will!

You could laminate the word strips and have the students use dry erase markers so you can save paper!

You could also change it up by writing letters, numbers, or words on the apples for the students to hunt for and write down. The options are endless!
