If you have an orange craft pumpkin, cover it in 2-3 coats of white acrylic paint using a foam brush. You can also start with a white craft pumpkin to eliminate this step!

Once dry, you can add the fall tissue paper leaves in any pattern you like. Use a foam brush to apply a thin layer of Mod Podge® directly to the pumpkin just in the spot where you want to add the leaf. Then gently press the leaf into the Mod Podge®.

Add a thin layer of Mod Podge® on top of the leaf to seal. Use an up-and-down blotting motion rather than a broad brushstroke as the colors from the tissue paper can bleed (especially the red). If you pick up any red color on your brush just dab it on a paper towel or rinse it prior to doing the next leaf. Use your finger to smooth the tissue paper flat if needed.

You can also paint the pumpkin stem a fun color if you like. I painted mine orange. You can cover the top of the pumpkin where it meets the stem with a few strips of painter’s tape to prevent any paint from getting on the white part of the pumpkin.
