Hot glue one end of a piece of white ric rac trim to the top inner portion of a small embroidery hoop then wrap the trim on a diagonal angle back and forth over the center of the hoop to form a star pattern. Cut the ric rac and hot glue the end to the hoop once you are satisfied with your pattern.

Add a dab of hot glue to the top of the embroidery hoop to secure one end of a colorful strand of ric rac trim. Wind the ric rac trim around the outside of the embroidery hoop, overlapping the fabric as you go around each time. You won't want any of the wood from the hoop to show through.

Cut 16" lengths of ribbon in colors to coordinate with your party's theme. I used one piece of White Lace Ribbon, two Sheer Light Pink Ribbon and two pieces of either light blue or lavender from the Solid Sheer Ribbon pack. Add the ribbon to the hoop by folding it in half, and then with the two ends on the backside of the hoop, pull them around the hoop and through the loop of the ribbon itself. Pull down to secure the ribbon to the hoop. I placed the white lace ribbon in the center and added the colorful ribbon to either side.

Now it's time to add a few treasures from the deep blue sea! Using hot glue, secure a Moon Seashell to one side of the hanging ribbon.

Once you're satisfied with your magical creations, hang them on the backs of the chairs at your mermaid party and watch as your little guests' faces light up when you tell them they get to take one home!
