Add 2 cups powdered sugar to a mixing bowl. Use a sieve to remove large lumps. Then add 1/4 cup milk and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Stir until smooth.

Next, add a couple of drops of purple food coloring into the mixture. Use a bamboo skewer to swirl around from the center of the bowl outwards until you have a color density you are happy with.

Dunk the donut into the glaze, hold for a few seconds, slowly lift up and let the glaze drip a bit before turning it over. If the hole of the donut is covered, use the bamboo skewer to push through the glaze in the donut hole. Set on a wire drying rack with parchment paper underneath (or risk getting in trouble with your partner for violet stained countertops! lol).

Once the donuts are dry it is time to decorate them. Taking tweezers, place pieces of edible gold leaf gilding foil delicately onto the donuts. These will naturally flatten on the donut, use the tweezers if this doesn't occur on its own.

Top the donuts with pretty edible flowers. I ordered and purchased mine at my local supermarket. You can also grow these at home.

Place donuts on a cake stand. Use a Large Palm Leaf sprayed rose gold and Purple Rose Petals under the stand as decoration. (remember once the leaf is sprayed it is not food safe, be sure to put wax paper or parchment paper down first.)
Serve donuts to guests on Plastic Purple Dessert Plates and watch those faces light up!
You can also display these super easy Marbled Donuts with Gold Gilding & Edible Flowers on my DIY Garden Swing Cake Display as an alternative to the cake! You'll find instructions for the DIY Floral & Greenery Wedding Arch the swing hangs from as well.
Be sure to check out my Pantone Ultra Violet Wedding for more ideas for including violet into your wedding.
