We used metallic gold spray paint to paint the wooden boxes. Apply 2-3 layers of paint and let them dry. Once dry, open the wooden boxes and spray paint the inside of the boxes. Allow the boxes to dry and repeat for the bottom of the boxes.

Cut small strips of each color from the rainbow bookmarks. Using the hot glue gun, glue the strips together to create a rainbow. Pull apart the cotton balls and glue them down to the top right of the wooden box. These will be the clouds for the rainbow. Bend the paper rainbow you made to give it a rounded shape. Add hot glue to the top of the clouds and press both ends of the rainbow into the clouds.

Using the hot glue, glue the St. Patrick’s Day bottle topper on the left hand side of the wooden box. You can glue a Leprechaun into the hat.

Open up the wooden box. Fill the box with the sparkling gold sand. This is starting to look fun! Add some of the gold coins and shiney shamrocks to the sand.

Cut a piece of the paper straw to prop the treasure chest open for your leprechauns. With some “luck” your new leprechaun trap will catch one of the leprechauns on St. Patrick’s Day. Who could resist the golden treasure at the end of the rainbow?
