Paint or color the craft roll and allow to dry. Cut multiple 4" circle from white cardstock paper. Using one end of your bendy straw, trace around the straw in the center of the white circle.
Punch out the hole with a pencil. This will be where you insert your bendy straw. Have the kids create various circles that they can switch between when using their kaleidoscopes. My kids used a sticker assortment, star stickers, psychedelic stampers, and glitter markers to design their kaleidoscope slides.

Trim the straw and insert the bendy end into the center of the white circle where the hole is; this will allow the circle to rotate.

Cut three rectangles using shiny silver card stock into 1.5 in. x 4.5 in. pieces using your ruler and tape them together. Then fold the pieces into a triangle with the shiny side on the inside of the triangle. Tip! We highly recommend you buy shiny silver card stock from your local craft store. The paper is smooth and will give the perfect reflection vs. using foil.

Insert the triangle into the craft roll; it should fit nice and snug. Tape or hot glue the bendy straw to the craft roll.

Place the circle slides your kids created, one at a time, onto the end of the bendy straw where the grooves are. Rotate the slide and look inside your kaleidoscope! Oooo and ahhh over the amazing patterns you see!
