Start making a bag by getting a prize bag tag, toy or game and a treat or snack.

These Crayola® Twistables Colored Pencils & Paper Set are great in the car. I gave my girls one pack to share, but everyone got their own activity pad to work on.

Add in another game option like these magnetic travel games. These have been a huge hit with my girls. I threw in another treat here. Notice I don’t do a treat each time.

Add in one of these tricky puzzle balls. Each bag rotates an activity to do with others, like the games, and then some solo, like coloring or these puzzle balls. It’s important to let kids have a little time to themselves during long road trips.

Make a bag that is just full of treats. Sometimes you can play road trip games, like The Alphabet Game, and let everyone eat a treat.

Make as many bags as you think you’ll need. I like to have them open one about once every hour. This keeps them excited, but doesn’t let them get tired of the bag they just opened. Once all your bags are filled, staple on the printable bag tags. You may want to note what prizes go in which bags to make things move smoother.
