Set out different beads for your child to string onto elastic or plastic cording. For younger children I recommend using plastic cording with larger holed beads. Elastic cording with smaller holed beads can be used with kids about 6 and up. Tie a knot on the end of your cord and begin beading.

Your child can choose a pattern or random design for their beading. Anything looks great. Tie a knot on the end of each elastic strand after the beads. You'll need three strands of beads in various sizes. We loved using watercolor beads, leaves, letter beads, and our very favorite, pom pom beads. If your child is on the younger side, I recommend using these letter beads, pony beads, and animal beads.

Each beaded strand is going to get tied to your dowel equidistant from the center. The smallest strand first and then the medium and then the longest. I recommend tying double knots. If you're concerned it might slip off you can add a touch of hot glue gun. You might want to decorate your dowel first with various washi tape. The metallic tapes are our favorite. Our last detail was to add a tassel.
Then hang and enjoy your super cool beaded wall hanging!
