Kids Art Class: Piet Mondrian Inspired Art

Kids Art Class: Piet Mondrian Inspired Art

Although Dutch artist Piet Mondrian started out painting landscapes, he is best known for his abstract paintings made from squares and rectangles. He mainly used primary colors, and – fun fact – he never used a ruler to measure out any lines. It wasn’t until he moved to Manhattan that he developed a technique using pieces of paper tape to create small rectangles of color. This art project was inspired by one of Piet Mondrian’s most famous works and is a fun to create for a kids’ art class.
