First you will need to secure your boxwood mats together. Flip the boxwood mats so that the grid side is facing up. Tightly press two mats together and attach one mat to the other using floral wire. Work your way down the length of the boxwood mat and secure about four attachment points with floral wire. To create this backdrop I used four boxwood mats in total.

Once your boxwood mats are secure it is time to start decorating! Cut the stems of the faux peonies and faux cream rosebuds to about 2 inches long.

Carefully feed the stems of your faux flowers through the grid of the boxwood mats.

Secure your faux flowers by wrapping floral wire around the boxwood grid and up around the stem of the flower. You can either leave your flower stems long at this point or cut them. No one will see this side of your backdrop so don't worry about the appearance too much!

Thread ribbon through the top of your boxwood backdrop and secure to a backdrop stand by tying a knot or bow. The backing of the boxwood mats is strong mesh and will hold steady when hung.
