Start by dry brushing white acrylic paint on the DIY slat sign to create a rustic look. Dry brushing is a technique where you use a paint brush "dry" to paint without using any water on the brush.
While drying, washi tape and paint the mini wood popsicles. We painted ours in patriotic colors using red, white and blue acrylic paint.
Once dry, hot glue the wood popsicles to the sign.
Next, paint the letters for “Summer” using blue acrylic paint. Set aside to dry.
Download the Free Hello Printable Template here! To transfer the template onto the wooden sign, roughly cut out the words then rub the back of the template with a pencil.
Attach the Hello letters to the wooden sign with washi tape, facing the pencil rub side down. Next, trace the words with a pencil or ballpoint pen. Remove the template to reveal the words on the sign.
Once the Summer letters are dry, attach them to the wood sign with hot glue.
Next, using red acrylic paint, use a thin paint brush to paint over the pencil traced Hello word.
Finally, add glitter glue to the painted wooden popsicles to add some fun sparkles.
