Paint a wood slat sign with white paint and a foam brush. Apply a second coat if desired and let dry completely.
Print out the free pumpkin printable. Turn the paper over to the backside of the printable. To transfer the pumpkin shape to the wood sign, firmly rub a pencil over the backside edges of the pumpkin.
Turn the pumpkin printable so the front side is facing up. Place the paper over the center of the sign where you'd like the pumpkin design to go. Trace around the pumpkin firmly with a pencil.
Lift up the paper and you will see a pencil line around the pumpkin. This is your guide that shows you exactly where to paint!
Paint the pumpkin with orange paint on the wood sign with a paintbrush. Let the paint dry completely.
Use the same technique to transfer the words "Happy Birthday Little Pumpkin" onto the orange pumpkin. This time use chalk instead of a pencil. Since the paint is orange, the white chalk will show up better than pencil.
To do this, color over the backside of the paper over the words with a piece of white chalk. Turn the paper over with the pumpkin side up and place it centered over the pumpkin you painted. Use a pencil to trace over the letters firmly to transfer the chalk design onto the wood sign.
Remove the printable pumpkin paper to reveal the white chalk line letters. Use a small paintbrush and white paint to paint the letters. Let dry completely. I chose to rub fine grit sandpaper over the top of my sign to make it look rustic and a bit vintage.
Display your cute new wood sign at a Little Pumpkin Birthday Party to celebrate your fall baby's birthday!
