Paint the palm side of your child's hand with gray acrylic paint and then press it on the back side of a paper plate. Allow time for the paint to dry. Once dry, use an Elmer's Glue Stick to glue a Small Unfinished Wood Slice to the middle of the paper plate to make the gnome's nose.
Now to make a hat. Cut a large triangle from construction paper and glue it to the top half of the paper plate. It can cover a little bit of the top of the gnome's wood slice nose.
Glue a yarn pom-pom to the top of the hat.
Decorate the hat with Christmas Tree Self-adhesive Shapes, adhesive jewels, poms-poms, foam shapes, pom-pom trim – whatever your heart desires to make it festive for the holidays!
To make the gnome's beard, cut strips around the bottom of the paper plate. Use your finger or a pencil to curl the strips.
Add a ribbon hanger to the back so you can hang this Christmas gnome on your door or Christmas tree. Make a few extra to gift grandparents, aunts and uncles, too. After all, there's gnome place like home for the holidays!
