Use acrylic paint and a flat paintbrush to apply a coat of paint to both of the flat sides of the DIY Ceramic Flat Bunnies. Once the flat part is dry, paint the sides of the bunny with gold acrylic paint and allow time for the paint to dry.

Sketch the hand lettered words onto one of the flat sides of the bunny. Do this with a pencil to ensure spacing and spelling is correct. Trust me on this – pencil it on first!

Paint the words onto the bunnies either using acrylic paint markers (you can find the white and aqua markers in these sets) or just use acrylic paint and a round paint brush. Once the lettering is dry, use a Sharpie™ Metallic Marker to draw shadows onto the letters.

Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge® onto the gold sides using a Sponge Paint Brush. Apply a Gold Foil Leaf Sheet and allow to dry for a few minutes. Use a stiff bristled paint brush to brush off the excess gold leaf and apply another layer of Mod Podge® to seal the gold leaf in place. When applying gold leaf to a large area, be sure to work in sections to ensure best coverage.

This pair of flat ceramic bunnies is now ready for your Easter mantle or entryway table. We chose to do one bunny in light aqua and the other in white for a nice contrast, but you can make the bunnies match your own Easter décor simply by switching out the paint colors.
