I have found that success for a classroom craft comes in the prep work! So, before you do this craft, make sure each student has a God Created You & Me Ornament Craft Kit, a piece of Blue Construction Paper that has been cut in half, and a "God, thank you for creating…" paper that has been cut to size. Download the Free "God, thank you for creating..." Printable here!

Students are going to start by putting their God Created You & Me Ornament Craft Kit together. I recommend explaining how to do it and also have a finished sample for kids to see. My favorite thing about this craft is that all of the pieces are adhesive and each child's pieces are in individual kits! This is any teacher's dream! You will not need the purple ribbon from this craft. I decided to cut off the top piece on the craft that the ribbon was supposed to go through, but that is totally optional.

Next, have students respond to the prompt by writing what they are thankful for on the "God, thank you for creating…" writing page that you can download for free HERE. Sometimes it helps to brainstorm ideas beforehand. You can write ideas on the board or have students get in a circle to each share something they are thankful for that God created. It's totally up to you! For preschool age kids you could have them tell you their answer and you write it, but for older kids let them do their own writing and you can always underwrite if needed.

Have the kids attach their writing to the bottom of the half piece of Blue Construction Paper with a glue stick. Then they can glue their fish craft to the top. Younger students may need some extra assistance with this step.

Send the finished project home or hang them up in the classroom or hallway to enjoy first before sending them home. Either way these crafts are a fun way to finish a Creation lesson about how God is our Creator and that everything He made is good!
