I started with plain white gift boxes I had at home. You can find a large range of plain gift boxes including White Square Gift Boxes here. For the first design, dip a small triangle block from the Melissa & Doug® 200 Piece Wood Building Blocks Set into paint. Press onto the lid of the box to create a geometric shape. Repeat to create a pattern. For the second design, cut out a triangle using foam sheets and dip into green paint and press onto the top of a box. This creates a Christmas tree shape.

Next paint the box embellishments. Spray round unfinished wood beads gold or white. Paint DIY Unfinished Wood Star Shapes pink or gold.

For the first design, with repeated triangles, thread the spray painted balls onto either Red Bakers Twine or ribbon. Either tie in a bow or wrap more string around the box to create a wider band.

For the second design, the larger Christmas tree shape, glue on Christmas decorations. Use either the Green Bead Assortment or Moonstone Aurora Borealis Cut Crystal Round Beads as tree ornaments. Use hot glue to attach to the tree shape. Use a painted star as the tree topper. Use hot glue to attach to the tree shape.

Another simple gift topper can be made using stars and wire. Drill a hole through one of the wooden stars and attach to a gift using craft wire.

The gifts are now ready to give to your guests! Place them next to the hearth as fabulous coordinating decor until your guests arrive.
