Begin by separating out the red and white felt balls from your package. I found that I could make about 8 candy canes per package of felt balls. Separate your felt balls into groups of 4 white and 4 red felt balls for each candy cane.

Next, begin by hot gluing the felt balls together to form the base of the candy cane. Alternate the red and white felt balls to make the base 4 felt balls long. Then glue the next felt ball to the top of the base at a slight angle to start your candy cane curve. Repeat with the next two felt balls, again alternating the colors, to finish the curve of the candy cane. Set the finished candy cane aside and repeat with the remaining felt balls.

The final step is to thread the baker's twine onto a large embroidery needle and tie a knot in the twine. Then thread the candy canes onto the twine through the top felt ball on each candy cane. Once all the felt candy canes are on the twine, cut the twine from the roll leaving an extra 12" on each end. Then fold the end over about 6" and tie a loop on each end to use to hang the garland.
